Visiting Scientist Program
The B4 Program hosts Visiting Scientists for 12 months in fields related to the biosciences at Harvard University and other Boston-area institutions. Each B4 Visiting Scientist is matched with a lab that focuses on a research topic within the biosciences, including Systems and Synthetic Biology, Neuroscience, Genomics and Bioinformatics, Soft Robotics, and Biomedical Engineering.
Visiting Scientists in Cambridge and actively participate in the events and intellectual life of the Mittal Institute, which organizes seminars at Harvard for fellows to discuss their research with the broader community. Additionally, fellows contribute to the Harvard community by teaching, mentoring, and advising students.
The Visiting Scientists program is open to Assistant Professors/Scientists (holding Ph.D.) not exceeding 42 years of age and working in regular capacity in the academic institutions and research organizations in India during the first 7 years of their service.
Visiting Scientist Program 2020-21
Starting Date: April-May 2020
Duration of the Program: 12 months
Stipend: INR 195,000/month for 12 months.
*Apart from the above mentioned stipend, the visiting scientists are expected to receive their salary from the Indian institution that they are employed in, through these 12 months.
**Health insurance and round-trip economy travel expenses to and from Boston will also be provided as per the policies of the funding agency.
