Please join the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession for a lecture by Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, an eminent jurist, politician, visible media personality, well-known columnist, author, thinker, and commentator.
Dr. Singhvi is a Member of India’s Parliament (third-term), the senior most National Spokesperson of the Congress Party and the youngest designated Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India (at age 34). He was the youngest Additional Solicitor General of India at the young age of 37 and a former elected Vice President of the Supreme Court Bar Association. Additionally, Dr. Singhvi was also the former Vice Chairman of Congress’ Media Department, and the former Chairman of the AICC, Human Rights Department, and the Parliamentary Committee on Law, Justice, Personnel & Grievances. He has also been a member of the Indian Supreme Court, where he created and administered bilateral legal forums, including the Indo-British, Indo-US, Indo-Canadian and Indo-Israel forums. After obtaining his B.A. (Economics) degree from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi, Dr. Singhvi went on to complete his M.A. and Ph.D. from Trinity College, Cambridge, UK. He has taught at St. John’s College, University of Cambridge, and had joined a brief summer program at Harvard University as well. He has delivered lectures to student/faculty groups and general audiences at Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Boston, MIT and George Washington Universities, as well as NGOs and think-tanks, and has addressed several international conferences, including those at Paris and Pakistan. He was a visiting Trumbull Lecturer at Yale University, USA, in 2011 and is currently an Honorary Adjunct Professor at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University.
