Description:
Quality of healthcare is an essential component of Universal Health Coverage, the lack of which is increasingly responsible for negative health outcomes, more than the lack of health services altogether. Recently, OECD and some developing countries are studying the quality of care through patient experiences on aspects of healthcare that matter the most to patients. Such examination of patient experiences has been shown to help healthcare specialists in improving healthcare delivery through clinical effectiveness, care retention, adherence to medication, and confidence in healthcare systems. Through this webinar, we plan to bring attention to the significance of studying patient experiences and their benefits and limitations in determining the quality of care. Further, we would discuss some preliminary findings about experiences of hospitalisation and outpatient services use among older adults in India, across types of healthcare facilities, geographical regions, and social determinants of health.
