The exhibition will be on display from February 20 to April 15 and can be viewed independently and free of charge during business hours at CGIS South, 1730 Cambridge St, 4th floor.

On March 4, join us for the launch of the Spring 2024 Visiting Artist Fellowship Art Exhibition with Amra Khan, an interdisciplinary visual artist, and Waleed Zafar, a visual artist and curator. The evening will start with a panel discussion with Jinah Kim, George P. Bickford Professor of Indian and South Asian Art in the Department of History of Art & Architecture and Faculty Director of the Arts Advisory Council, Mittal Institute, Harvard University. The talk will be followed by a reception with regional snacks and beverages.

Amra Khan is based in Lahore, Pakistan, and explores the bipolarity of the binary, the dichotomies of gender, sexuality, intimacy, social conditioning, and the impact of religion. More specifically, she investigates the queer and alpha male archetype in the Pakistani Muslim community through oils, acrylics, and video installations. Her work has been showcased globally, including at the Lahore Biennale, and ARTROOMS – International Contemporary Art Fair in London. Currently, she serves as an assistant professor at Kinnaird College for Women, Department of Fine Arts, in Lahore, Pakistan.

Waleed Zafar is also based in Lahore, Pakistan and explores visual storytelling through photographic and archival research. His works have been exhibited internationally, including platforms like the Lahore Biennale and India Art Fair. Zafar actively engages in collaborative projects, contributing to the dynamic artistic landscape. Currently, he serves as a permanent faculty at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore.
