NEERMAN is a niche and specialized organization that conducts impact evaluations and develops and implements monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems in public health, environment and energy sectors. We also provide allied services such as economics and policy research using mixed methods, program design advisory, evaluation and research capacity building. Since 2007, we have conducted various types of M&E projects for Water and Sanitation Program, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNICEF, Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation, Deworm the World, Acumen Foundation and others directly and as a core of international research collaborations.

The N in NEERMAN stands for our strong network of external consultants, laboratories and field survey agency partners. We currently have experts in disaster management, energy, public health, agriculture and commercial market research on our panel.
NEERMAN’s business model to deliver high quality and high value research in India is through partnership between our own research staff, international advisory board members, and partner network of consultants, field survey agencies and laboratories. Our board of advisors include renowned impact evaluation experts from the University of California at Berkeley and the Duke University. National institute for Cholera and Enteric Diseases (Kolkata) and Envirocare laboratories (an NABL accredited laboratory) are our partners for laboratory support. For field survey support, we have a tried and tested panel of field agencies across 12 states in India and through them we have access to 300+ supervisors and 1500+ enumerators pan India. Our own staff specializes in impact evaluation, M&E systems, economics and policy research and field research management. NEERMAN’s is empanelled by the Planning Commission of India’s office of evaluation as evaluation experts and by International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) as associate member.

Evaluation Research is all that NEERMAN does and thus highly specialized at. We are a unique combination of high quality research institute and field survey agency. In research we are strong in various evaluation designs such as randomized controlled trials, regression discontinuity, difference in difference and matching methods, and case-control or cohort studies. Our expertise also includes complex sample designs, high quality field measurements, process evaluations, cost-effectiveness analysis, validation surveys, rapid performance audits, institutional assessments. We also develop M&E policies, frameworks, manuals, and advise in developing IT supported Apps.


This opportunity is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
