Akhil is a PhD student at the Committee on the Study of Religion at Harvard University. He is from Delhi/Kerala. He is working on early modern imaginations of culture and religion in south India. His project involves Thomas Christian- Portuguese encounter in the seventeenth and eighteenth century and the use of Malayalam poetry that playfully engages Hindu and Christian themes. Prior to coming to Harvard, Akhil graduated with a Master of Arts in Religion with a concentration in Philosophy of Religion from Yale Divinity School, New Haven and MA and BA in Philosophy from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
