Durba Mitra is an assistant professor of women, gender, and sexuality in the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Carol K. Pforzheimer Assistant Professor at the Radcliffe Institute. Mitra works at the intersection of feminist and queer studies. Her scholarship analyzes the history of sexuality in the global south, histories of science and social science, and the politics of gender in the colonial and postcolonial world.

Mitra received her PhD from Emory University. Her research has been supported by a fellowship at Wolf Humanities Center at the University of Pennsylvania and a Fulbright-Nehru Student Research Fellowship to India.
