Hiteshree Das is a design researcher and strategist with a focus on civic innovation, systems thinking, and storytelling. She holds a Master’s in Design Studies, with a concentration in the Public Domain, from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. By challenging conventional approaches to art and development, she creates immersive exhibitions and artifacts that shift policy conversations and expand civic imagination.
As an associate at the South Asia Institute, Hiteshree serves as a co-curator of the Hum Sab Ek traveling exhibition, developed in collaboration with Dr. Satchit Balsari. She has led the design of the exhibition, a multi-year initiative (2023-2026) that highlights the resilience and response strategies developed by the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) in India during the COVID-19 pandemic. By weaving oral histories, data visualizations, and storytelling, the project transforms research findings into an immersive, accessible, and emotionally resonant experience. As part of this initiative, she has collaborated with research institutions, philanthropies and development organizations to bring the exhibition to the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, the World Bank Headquarters, Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C., and the International Labour Organization in Geneva.
