Ira was the Communications Manager of The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University, at their office in Delhi from August 2019 till June 2021. She oversaw the content creation and promotion of the faculty-led research projects, seminars and events in India. She’s also responsible for the overall conceptualization and implementation of the communication needs of the projects funded through the Tata Trusts grant.

She has previously worked as an editor at Penguin Random House. She served as the Chief Copy Editor at The 1947 Partition Archive, where she curated oral history content published on the website and the database of its library partner, Stanford University Libraries. She was the researcher on a social justice campaign by TheaCare, a knowledge and resource platform for women’s health, where she studied the various inequities that hinder women’s access to public bathrooms in India. She has a master’s degree in English Literature from Hindu College at Delhi University.
