Litcy Kurisinkal is a Masters in Public Policy candidate of Harvard Kennedy School. She has been working as a Labor Rights Research Consultant for more than six years in India. She has worked on a spectrum of labor rights issues including child labor, forced labor, labor migration, labor trafficking and labor organizing in the informal economy. Some of the projects she has worked include “UNDP project to reduce vulnerability of migrant laborers to HIV and AIDS in South Asia”, ILO core labor standards campaign, SEIU-UNI[1] Global campaign to organize security workers in India, CARAM Asia[2] research on State of migrant health in Asia 2007, UNDP project to map migrant laborers in South Asia, Clean Clothes Campaign study on Purchasing patterns of multinational retailers in garment industry et al. During the summer 2012, she worked with the International Labour Organization (ILO) sub-regional office in New Delhi to develop an informal advisory note to Geneva office to recognize forced labor and child labor existing in garment industries in India. Her current research focuses on “access to protection services for children living on the streets in India”.
