Masuma Halai Khwaja’s artworks investigate pivotal points in recent South Asian history. Countering state-fed narratives and textbook versions of history, her works address the impact of unrest and mass migrations on dress codes, languages, religion, and mindsets. She graduated with distinction from the National College of Arts (NCA) in Lahore, Pakistan, and has showcased her work at five solo exhibitions in Pakistan and numerous curated group shows across the globe, including Qatar, China, Belgium, Germany, Singapore, the USA, Colombia, and Dubai. Her work has been featured at The South Asian American Art Festival, the Fiber Art Biennale China, Nord Art Germany, the Dafen Art Biennale Shenzhen, the Art Embroidery Biennale Chouzhou, and the Material Art Biennale Beijing.
