Mehwish Abid is a Lahore, Pakistan-based transdisciplinary architect-academic and visual artist. She completed the Visiting Artist Fellowship at the Mittal Institute in the Spring of 2022. Abid is the principal architect at the Studio of Architecture, Research, and Design (S A R D). She has received distinctions for both her graduate and postgraduate studies at the COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and the University of Liverpool in the UK. She explores the formation of new methods of immersion through material culture and experiments with the medium of sound, text, image, and objects as a visual artist. Her practice roots itself in decolonial notions of investigation that explore narratives of objects that migrated at the time of partition (Pakistan and India) through the frameworks of generational memories and methods of the archive.
