Priyanka Chahal, MD, from Jind, Haryana, India, is a physician, global health researcher, and youth leader pursuing her Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery at Harvard Medical School. A first‑generation doctor, she is dedicated to addressing the structural, social, and political determinants of health to improve outcomes for marginalized communities. Currently her master’s thesis focuses on preventing drug‑resistant tuberculosis by applying the Social Ecological Model to explore the social, cultural, and structural factors influencing treatment acceptance and completion.
For over four years, Priyanka has led initiatives with UN‑affiliated organizations, served as a Youth Representative to the United Nations, and engaged in global dialogues on health, women’s empowerment, climate, and equity. She has been recognized with national and international awards for her contributions to public health, climate‑health advocacy, and youth leadership. Her work spans India and Central Asia, advancing health equity, climate‑health research, and policy reform with a focus on marginalized and underserved populations.
She has represented youth voices at UN climate conferences, led high‑level initiatives with the World Economic Forum and the United Nations, and contributed to climate‑health research through the Harvard Global Health Institute’s Scholarly Working Group. Through her leadership and research, Priyanka bridges science, policy, and community action to build inclusive, resilient, and equitable health systems worldwide.
