Dr. Rinan Shah is an interdisciplinary researcher working in environment and development, sustainability studies and climate change. She is working with Prof. Diane E. Davis, Charles Dyer Norton Professor of Regional Planning and Urbanism, Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her focus areas encompass water, mountains, governance, policy, institutions and urbanization. During her Fellowship, Rinan will expand her work on water access and marginalization in the Himalayan Region expanding on her PhD work on domestic water scarcity. She will be taking a Political Geography perspective, to bring urbanization, and spatial and socio-cultural factors into the understanding of water security. She was a Research Fellow under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies and is a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Working Group II Sixth Assessment Report.
