Sejal is a second-year PhD student in the Intelligent Interactive Systems Group at Harvard. Her research in human-computer interaction explores how AI language models can support science learning in everyday life and help people reason about scientific phenomena. She extends these questions of how people access and engage with scientific knowledge to menstrual health in South Asia, examining how to expand and sustain access to reliable care and information, particularly for women from economically marginalized communities.
Before beginning her PhD, Sejal led UX research for teams developing interactive applications, including Humaniki, an open-data dashboard that tracks gender gaps across Wikimedia projects, and Google’s NotebookLM, an AI research tool and thinking partner. Outside of work, she writes on Medium about UI/UX design, feminist cultural commentary, and collaboration.
