Blair Read is a Ph.D. candidate in the Political Science Department at MIT, where she studies comparative politics and methodology. Her research focuses on the politics of development and elite political behavior, studying how non-state service provision influences policy-making and political behavior in middle-income countries. 
 
At MIT, Blair is a Graduate Research Fellow with MIT GOV/LAB, and is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Prior to attending MIT, she worked as a Research Support Associate for the MIT Political Science Department and worked as a Field Research Associate for MIT GOV/LAB in Tanzania and Uganda.
