Join us for a webinar on “Centricity of Operative Care to Health Systems.”
In 2015, the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery noted that 5 billion people around the world lack timely access to safe and affordable operative care. Since then, research from the Disease Control Priorities Network and a landmark World Health Organization resolution have underscored that expanding essential and emergency operative care is not only cost-effective but also crucial for reducing poverty and achieving universal health coverage. A decade on, Global Surgery continues to gain recognition. Yet, conversations on operative care—encompassing surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and anesthesia—remain limited within broader health systems discourse.
This webinar brings together leading experts to explore how strengthening operative care can advance resilient, equitable, and sustainable health systems worldwide.
