About the exhibition: The exhibition is based on Dr. Satchit Balsari’s research on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the 2.9 million-strong Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), and its members’ response to it. The research team surveyed over 1000 households and documented 30 hours of oral histories. The findings informed the art and exhibits developed by graduate students from across Harvard and by SEWA members themselves. The exhibition will be on display at Harvard University until August 20, 2024, and then travel to other locations in the US and beyond.
