Professor Anil Gupta, founder of the Honey Bee Network, will deliver a talk titled “India Changing: searching and supporting innovation insurgents.” The talk will focus on the ecosystem of inclusive innovations emerging in India, with global implications. There will be examples from five focii of innovations: children, tech students, informal sector, professionals and public systems. He will share the policy influencing process based on passion, purpose, performance and platforms. Prof Gupta will also share a large database of ideas registered by NIF with interested students who want to take these patented innovations and incubate their start-ups. Prof. Anil K Gupta is a professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). He is also the Executive Vice Chair of the National Innovation Foundation and the founder of the Honey Bee Network, SRISTI and GIAN. The courses he has taught at IIMA include Globalizing and Resurgent India through Innovative Transformation with Bharat Ratna Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, former President of India (2008-10) as co-faculty; Shodhyatra  (learning walk in Himalayan region), creativity, Innovation, Knowledge Network and Entrepreneurship,  Strategic Management of Intellectual Property Rights, Institution Building (IB), Agri Management. He was also a Fellow at The World Academy of Art and Science, California in 2001, and a Member of the National Innovation Council. Prof. Gupta is also the recipient of the Padma Shree award from President of India, one of the highest civil honours in India, apart from several national and international honours. He was conferred Doctorate, Honoris Causa by Universidad de San Martin de Porres, Peru, on October 17, 2013; the Humanistic Management Lifetime Achievement Award by the Humanistic Management Network, St. Gallen, Switzerland at the 73rd Annual meeting of the Academy of Management, Orlando, USA on August 12, 2013; Doctor of Letters from Central University of Orissa on July 29, 2012; and the Hermes Award by the European Institute for Creative Strategies and Innovation, Paris in May 2012. A member of many government and corporate bodies, Prof. Gupta is also a widely published author.
