Join us for a webinar on “Private Sector in Primary Health: Catalyst for Progress or Cause for Concern?” organized jointly by The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute at Harvard University and Lancet Citizens’ Commission on Reimagining India’s Health System.
India has a large, fragmented, and unregulated private sector, often serving as the point of first contact for patients across the socio-economic spectrum. A significant proportion of out of pocket expenditure results from medicines and diagnostics recommended by these providers. The Lancet Citizens’ Commission has identified two strategies to align these providers with Universal Health Coverage (UHC) principles. A panel of experts will consider the opportunities and risks attached to each of these strategies and alternative strategies to bring the private primary care sector into alignment with UHC principles.
