HLS J-Term Clinical Internship
HLS J-Term Clinical Internship
About
At Harvard Law School, the academic year consists of fall, winter, and spring term. Winter term is a three-week period in January each year. To graduate, J.D. students must complete three winter terms. In their second or third year, students interested in a legal practice experience may participate in a clinical internship during the winter term, which allows them to spend the three-week term doing direct client services or research and writing for a non-profit, government, or public interest organization.
The Mittal Institute is proud to help facilitate a new J-Term Clinical Internship with the Supreme Court of Pakistan, based in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The purpose of this judicial internship is to expose these candidates to the workings of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Through this internship, candidates will get an opportunity to attend the court proceedings at the Supreme Court, prepare bench-memorandums, conduct legal research, draft opinions, assist the Honorable Justice on complex cross-cutting legal issues, and contribute to the overall functioning of the Chambers.
The HLS Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs (OCP)’s Winter Term international independent clinicals staff have indicated that they will approve for credit up to three HLS students for travel to Islamabad for this judicial internship for the upcoming January.
