Harvard Law School (HLS) Clinical Internship

The Mittal Institute is proud to help facilitate Clinical Internships for Harvard Law School students with the Supreme Court of Pakistan, based in Islamabad, Pakistan, one over J-Term and another for the Summer Term.

The purpose of this judicial internship is to expose these candidates to the workings of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Through this internship, candidates will get an opportunity to attend the court proceedings at the Supreme Court, prepare bench memorandums, conduct legal research, draft opinions, assist the Honorable Justice on complex cross-cutting legal issues, and contribute to the overall functioning of the Chambers.

This internship can be used to fulfill Harvard Law School’s winter term requirement of engaging in direct client services or research and writing for a non-profit, government, or public interest organization.

Application Process

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be LL.M., J.D., or S.J.D. candidates currently enrolled at HLS.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit their application via an application portal. The following must be submitted:

Cover letter
CV
A copy of your passport’s bio page

While a recommendation letter is optional, should applicants wish to submit one, there is space on the application portal to indicate how the letter will be submitted.

Timeline

Applications for the summer term are currently open and will follow the below schedule:

March 1, 2025: Application opens
March 30, 2025: Application closes
Week of April 21. 2025: Decisions sent out

Applications for J-Term will open in the fall semester.
