Mapping Color in History™ (MCH) is a digital research platform that harnesses the power of digital humanities to compile pigment analysis data from existing and on-going research on scientific analysis of Asian painting and make them searchable for historical research. Situated at the intersection of art and science, the MCH project is deeply collaborative and multidisciplinary. The Lakshmi Mittal and family South Asia Institute has supported the project from its inception, especially the core research component, the MCH-India under which the MCH Mobile Heritage Lab was established in 2021.
Join us for the “MCH in Action” webinars where the project team and research partners discuss the MCH’s scope, goals, and current research findings.
