The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute is a university-wide research institute at Harvard that engages faculty members, students, and in-region institutions through interdisciplinary programs to disseminate knowledge, build capacity, inform policy, and engage with issues that are shaping South Asia today. To build our relationships with Harvard’s different schools, faculty, and student body, we are looking to hire student ambassadors from each of Harvard’s schools.
These student ambassadors will help us connect with Harvard students, spread the word about our events, and use their unique knowledge of their own school to brainstorm potential new or partnered events for the Mittal Institute to host. For backstage access to some of the University’s most prominent South Asian events and to participate in cross-school collaboration, apply to be a Student Ambassador today.
Responsibilities of a student ambassador include:
Sending out weekly emails to your student body about Mittal Institute events
Attending Mittal Institute events, as your schedule permits
Organizing co-sponsored event(s) between your school and the Mittal Institute
Brainstorming cross-university events
Attending a monthly meeting with other student ambassadors
This would be an approximately 5-hour per week commitment, in addition to 1-2 hours per each monthly meeting. This is an unpaid position.
If you’re interested in this position, please email Alex Sanyal at asanyal@gsd.harvard.edu with a short letter of intent and a copy of your resume.
