From May 30 to June 25, 2025, the HUM SAB EK (We Are One) exhibition is on display at the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It marks the fourth stop of this traveling exhibition outside Harvard University after a visit to the Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC, in May 2025, The World Bank Headquarters in January 2025, and the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City in September 2024.

The multimedia exhibition, curated by Dr. Satchit Balsari and Hiteshree Das GSD ’25, and created by members of the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) and graduate students from across Harvard, is open to ILO staff and the nearly 5,000 delegates from 187 countries attending the International Labor Conference. Its presence at the ILO is of particular salience to SEWA members and to workers worldwide. The exhibit is now accessible in French, Spanish, and English.

As with prior stops, accompanying panels underscored themes illuminated by the traveling exhibit. A panel discussion organized and moderated by Cathy Feingold, AFL-CIO and International Trade Union Confederation on June 9 discussed the impact of heat stress on workers and how unions, governments and global institutions are working to respond to this crisis.

Panelists:

  • Luiz Marinho, Minister of Labor, Brazil
  • Antônio de Lisboa Amâncio Vale, International Director, CUT Brazil
  • Jyoti Macwan, General Secretary, Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA)
  • Rebecca Reindel, Director, Health and Safety Department, AFL-CIO
  • Satchit Balsari, Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine, Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
  • Manali Azzi, Team Lead on OSH Policy and Systems, ILO

The exhibition will continue its journey around the globe to spark conversations with key stakeholder communities in the development sector, academia, philanthropies, and multilateral development organizations.
