On July 11, the “One Harvard, Young Harvard” mixer brought an evening of dialogue and camaraderie to the Mittal Institute’s India Office, where incoming students, alumni, and University affiliates came together to strengthen the intergenerational ties at the heart of the Harvard community.

The evening was hosted by the Mittal Institute’s India Office, in collaboration with the Harvard Club of India, the Harvard Business School’s India Research Center, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s India Research Center, and the Harvard Business School Club of India.

The program opened with a warm welcome, by Hitesh Hathi, the Mittal Institute’s executive director, setting the stage for thoughtful conversations across disciplines and experiences.

Distinguished alumni—including Radhika Chopra (Harvard Kennedy School), Aparajita Rana (Harvard Law School), and Avinash Pandey (Harvard Business School)—reflected on the transformative impact of their Harvard education, tracing their leadership journeys and the enduring influence of Harvard on their personal and professional lives.

Ashok Mittal (top left), alumnus of the Mason Fellowship Program at Harvard University and President of the Harvard Club of India, introduced four of the ten recipients of the Prem Tara Scholarship Program: (clockwise) Ameena Mumtaz (HMS’26), Cherub Kapoor (HBS’27), Shruti Dharuman (HGSE’26), and Shubham Rathore(HKS’27). Each spoke about their aspirations and the significance of this support as they begin their studies at Harvard.

The evening was rich with lively conversations and connections, embodying the spirit of One Harvard, Young Harvard.

Alumni such as Gurcharan Das (AB honors 1963; AMP (HBS) 1991), Sanjay Kumar (HKS’15), and Radhika Chopra (HKS’96), alongside a diverse group of incoming students, exemplify the enduring bond of the Harvard community in India.

Before departing, several students left notes of inspiration on the “One Harvard, Many Stories” wall—a reminder of the shared values and aspirations that connect generations of Harvard scholars.
