Last week, the Mittal Institute held a panel webinar, “The Response to COVID-19 in South Asia,” moderated by Dr. Vikram Patel, Pershing Square Professor of Global Health at Harvard Medical School.

Together, the panelists discussed the impact of the policy response to COVID-19 on the ground in South Asia, considering whether or not the policies are proportionate and appropriate — and what consequences they might have. They delved deeper into the varied in-region responses to the virus, and how different guidelines and actions have impacted the health systems and social sectors of the region’s nations. 

Dr. Patel was joined by four panelists from both Harvard and multiple in-region institutions:
