SAI’s Grant Open House, held on Monday December 10, featured presentations from eight students who went to South Asia this summer to conduct research or intern at one of the 49 different organizations SAI has partnered with in the region. Nishin Nathwani ’15 spoke about his internship with Project Dharma in Delhi. Shalini Pammal ’13 described her experiences at the Samhita Academy in Bangalore, Louis Cid ’14 spoke on his work with the Center for Developing Societies in New Delhi, Ginny Fahs ’14 gave a moving account of her work with the Society for Promotion of Area Resource Centers in Mumbai, Radhika Jain ’14 described her undergraduate fellowship at Shots for Shots in Baroda, Jared Katseff HBS/GSD gave an account of his research at the Institute for Financial Management and Research in Srirangapatna, India, Ambika Kamath GSAS spoke about her thesis research on the Fan-Throated Lizard at multiple sites in India, and finally Stephanie Spray GSAS described her resarch on Gandharba migratory labor practices in Nepal.
